Monday Night at Nell and Gladio's

It had been a lovely weekend and Nell was feeling happy and relaxed. She'd arranged for someone to open Covent Garden Flowers in case she wasn't able to make it in, so she had the day off. She'd used the time to make some venison stew and some good bread to go with it. She'd also made chocolate chip skillet cookies and a skillet Texas sheet cake to serve with ice cream later.

The rest of the day was spent puttering around the house and spending time with Gladio and the kittens whenever they happened to find her and making sure the house was ready for guests.

"Prompto," Liliana greeted with another twitch of a bratly smile. "I've a favor to ask of you."

Oh, well, there were plenty of ways this could go! Prompto was eyeing that twitch of a smile with caution as he shifted the asleep-not-dead-honest kid in his arms.

"Yeah, sure," he said. "What's up?"

Awww, look at him! He was educable. Liliana adored that in a man.

But let's see if he expected her next question! "Will you teach me how to use a gun?" she asked.

Was her magic superior to any gun? Absolutely. But did it ever hurt to know multiple ways to kill something defend oneself?

Besides, how great would she look with a derringer tucked into her garter next to one of her knives? The answer was very.

Prompto definitely did not see that one coming, no.

But once the initial surprise of it passed, it made a little more sense and he chuckled a little.

"Yeah, sure," he said. "I can definitely do that!"

Then his grin broke out even more before settling into a smirk. "Once you got a taste of it in class last week, you just couldn't help coming back for more, huh?"
