Monday Night at Nell and Gladio's

Nell was rather cheerful today. After work and class she'd thrown together two noodle casseroles - one with sausage and the other meatless - and then headed up to the roof to care for her bees. They seemed to have made it through the winter well and were happily buzzing around. Once everything was taken care of she settled into one of the chairs and curled up with a book to enjoy the quiet before any guests arrived.

Liliana'd managed to surprise Ignis, had a class about cats, and then hired a 'cat' as her newest employee, so all in all, it was (once again) a wonderful day to be Liliana.

...Most days were, which made the ones that were not all the more obnoxious.

"Hello, darlings," she greeted as she came in on Ignis' arm. "How was everyone's first day of the summer session?"

"Quite good," Nell said. "The flowers were singing cheerfully at the shop and my first aid class was very nice. And my bees all made it through the winter and are doing very well."

"...The flowers were singing?"

[mylandmyrules]

Nell nodded and hummed a bit of the song, quite tunefully actually. "They do that sometimes, though mostly they hum."

"...Huh," Liliana said. "For whatever reason, I was not expecting that."

[mylandmyrules]

"Always something surprising," Nell said with a laugh. "So how is your week going? Taking any classes this term?"

"Three classes, plus teaching my own," Liliana confirmed. "The first was today - I'm in Cats with Gladio, in fact. And you, dear."

[mylandmyrules]

"I'm not teaching anything," Nell said. "But I'm taking First Aid - that was today - then camping and yoga on Friday."

She smiled fondly over at Gladio.

"I have a philosophy class tomorrow, my own class Thursday, and then Gale's class on Friday. His is also about magic and I look forward to discussing the differences in our styles."

Because someone was a giant fucking nerd was why.

"That sounds interesting," Nell said. "I didn't get to the Welcome Party this weekend, but there seemed to be a fair amount of new people."

"Oh yes, moreso than I've seen in awhile," Liliana said. "Whyever didn't you go, dear one? Feeling all right?"

[mylandmyrules]

"Oh no, I'm fine," Nell said. "I quite often stay home. Even when I was a student. I'm not a big fan of crowds and I have plenty to keep me busy here. Gladio went, though."
