Monday Night at Nell and Gladio's

Nell was making hot honey glazed chicken for dinner and had made rice with honey and ginger mixed in with the stock. There was fresh-made cornbread with honey to put on it and an apple and honey tart for dessert.

Once everything was set she took a little time for herself and went up to soak in the hot tub. The kittens were always a bit disgruntled that she had immersed herself in the water thing again, but they were happy enough to curl up on the outdoor cat tower that was nearby so they could watch her.

Gladio had been craving root beer for some unknown reason, and thought he pretty much struck gold when he saw it being sold in a big giant jug, not quite realizing that he maybe should have read the finer print on the labeling a little closer....

When he got back from his errands and popped the jug in the fridge to chill, he took a few moments just to bask in just how amazing everything Nell had been working on smelled, and then went to go find her. When it was pretty clear to him where she might be when he didn't find her in the apartment, he shucked off his shirt, changed into some swim trunks, and headed up to the roof.

Only to be instantly greeted with a rush of eagerly meowing kittens, clustering around his feet and demanding from the attention that Nell had oh-so-selfishly denied them.

"Alright, alright, alright," he chuckled, as he bent down to scoop them up easily, one in each hand, "don't get your tails all tied up, I got you."

Then, he grinned over at Nell in the hot tub, as the cars settled against he shoulders.

"You'd almost think they missed me, or something."
