On Saturday morning of the 20 year reunion, there was a text from Marc: Island's being weird. Are you ok?

Of course whether or not any version of her got that in a timely manner was up to the whims of fate.

When isn't the island being weird? That's something I've never forgotten. Are you still living here? Wow, it's been a while hasn't it!

Early Monday morning, Marc sent a text.

She had to think about that for a minute.

I'm not entirely sure. I think so.

Oh, that would make him worry.

I'm not hurt or anything. I just seem to have lost a weekend.

Oh, that might worry him even more given, well, the givens there. Could she take back a text? No apparently not.

When Nell returned from her trip to France there would be a postcard waiting for her. It was a picture of a winery in Porto, Portugal. On it was written:

Not your usual sort of plants but they brought you to mind all the same. Couldn't ask if they were happy but they seemed cheerful enough. Hope your trip is just as amazing!

It was signed by Steven and, in clearly different handwriting, Watts.

Lana listened to Nell's message, then called her back.

"Hello, Nell, Lana here. I'd be happy to help if I can. Would you like to get together and talk about things?"

"Yes, I'd like that very much. Did you want to come over here? Or would you rather meet somewhere else?"

A text came in for Nell on November 12, 2022. It had no words. Just a picture of a doorway with an Exit sign above it.

When Nell woke up her right age on Tuesday morning she finally saw the text and immediately texted back.

Oh, you remembered! Thank you! That's marvelous.

Sorry I didn't respond sooner, but I was four.

Sometime on Wednesday, February 15, thanks to the magic of portals, a postcard and package would arrive. On the postcard was written:

Hello, Nell! Having a lovely time of it. Thank you for taking care of things. The present is from Llewellyn and me to say that. Thanks. It's from a farmer's market. Same one on this postcard! Later, though. Modern. Not a current picture. Anyway, hope you like it! - Steven Grant

And then, under what Steven wrote, in messy but easily recognizable script, was:

My thanks again for taking the time to check in on Raphael. Hopefully he at least made it out from under the couch on occasion.

A short time later, Steven would get a text with a picture of Raphael on a lap that could only be Nell's with her skirts.

Sometime in late afternoon Steven and Llewellyn finally had a chance to listen to radio. Naturally worried, but not wanting to disturb if Nell was resting or otherwise recuperating, Steven decided to send a text.

Are you all right? Heard about the fire on radio. Please let us know if you're in need of anything.

Sometime Monday afternoon Steven would receive this text from what might almost sound like a drunk Nell.

Late, late, late Monday night (or perhaps it would technically be the very wee hours of Tuesday at this point), a small pouch just so happened to be left hanging from the handle of the door to Nell's shop by an unknown (at least, that was what he was going for) benefactor. Perhaps she might not even see it, paltry thing that it was, but if she did happen to find it, she would discover that the pouch, while rather crude in its craftmanship, was clearly handmade, from soft, high-quality green fabric, and the stitching steady and skilled. And inside, she would find it stuffed with brightly wrapped pieces of chocolate candy and a wide array of colorful jelly beans. Just a small token, left by a clearly mysterious someone.

When Nell opened the shop she found the pouch and immediately knew who it was from. She held it to her heart and said a little prayer - more a sort of giving thanks blessing- for Boc. She'd treasure this.

Well, things were starting to wind down nicely, Prompto was getting ready to head back to Liz, and Gladio felt his wistfulness start to lean a slightly different direction. He slipped out his phone and dialed up Nell's number.

Nell had been hoping he'd call. "Yes, Mr. Amicitia? I hope you're not calling to have me bail you out of jail, sir."

Around mid day a text came in for Nell from Steven's number:

Happy birthday. Hope you're spending it doing something you like.

It's so kind of you to remember me. Thank you! I have a quiet, lovely day planned.

Hello little woods witch. I've been thinking about our conversation about spas and have decided to put together a small spa trip next week. Probably no longer than two hours, since I'm also inviting Annie and I doubt she'll want to be away from the twins for longer than that. Nothing extravagant, just a massage, lunch, and a mani-pedi for us. Do agree to come, dear one, I think it's an experience worth trying.

Shortly after that (despite what it may appear here, lol), Nell replied.

You're most welcome. They're from Covent Gardens, so not exactly mine, but close enough. I hope your vacation is going well!
