Monday Night at Nell's

Nell was hoping Liliana did join them tonight and she had the plan s for flower delivery all set for her approval. She'd made a batch of red velvet cupcakes - some vegan - for dessert as well as a noodle casserole for those looking for a more filling dish. The usual snacks and other treats were also available and there was always ice cream in the freezer.

Nell and the kittens were playing with a feather on a stick, them chasing it and her laughing at their antics, as she waited for her guests to arrive.

"It sounds more like something for my modiste than my stomach," she noted, still dubious.

"Oh no," Nell said. "Super moist cake, chocolatey, with a sweet cream cheese frosting. They're so good!"

"Well then," Liliana said, going to link her arm through Nell's, "clearly you'll just have to show me."

Because that was exactly what Liliana needed. More sugar

Nell laughed and led the way into the kitchen. "See? Don't they look delicious?"

The deep red cupcakes with bright white frosting looked and smelled wonderful if Nell did say so herself.

"Mmmm..." Liliana was doing her best to not look convinced. "I believe I shall have to try one to be certain."

Clearly only for that reason. And not because she absolutely wanted one of those delectable-looking cupcakes.

Nell laughed again and placed a cupcake on a small plate and handed it to her. "There you go. Come on in and sit in the living room so you can try it in comfort."

"I do adore comfort," Liliana said, taking the plate and following Nell into the living room with a quiet swish of her gown.

Settling in to sit next to Ignis (her foot sneaking out from under her skirts to curl around his ankle), she took a bite of her cupcake, and made a happy little noise as she did. "Oh, I am a fan indeed."

"I told you so," Nell said. "I only hope you save some room for my casserole. It's also quite good, if nowhere near as sweet or decadent as the cupcakes."

And if Liliana didn't that was fine with Nell. Liliana could make her own decisions after all!

For some reason or another, that caused Liliana to give Ignis a slyly mischievous grin that he was apparently choosing to ignore.

"I make no promises," she said, turning dancing eyes and merry dimples back to Nell. "Although I suppose agreeing to try barely counts as a promise at all."

"Or not," Nell said. "I'm not the boss of you." There might have been her own little mischievous smile at Gladio.

"Eat whatever you want. Don't eat what you don't."

"Oh, don't worry, darling," she said with a wink. "I generally do exactly what I wish and when."

...Being controlled by a contract with demons notwithstanding, obviously.

Nell laughed again and snagged a cupcake for herself. "I think I'll join you!"
